About Us ...

Basho Genji's training under Sensei Murasaki was incomplete when the young student waswhisked away to Dereth. Once Genji discovered what had happened, he immediately set forth in applying his Jojiist understanding of the universe to his new surroundings.

Genji had learned that his path to enlightenment was through the disciplined use of arms. He sat and meditated at the shrine south the city of Shoushi and began to commit to paper all that Murasaki Tanka had taught him about the proper, honorable application of force. Once ready, he began to practice these lessons by vanquishing the monsters that spawned near Shoushi--drudges and shreths, but then more formidable creatures in the dungeons and plains of Sho land.

As he went, he met like-minded and similarly focused individuals. Some spurned the use of arms, and used only their fists to fight. Others were not oriented to battle at all, but rather used their minds or their innate magical abilities to advance the cause of honor in Dereth. All agreed, however, that the monsters of Dereth represent the most dishonorable of forces. They are Desire made manifest. Pure. Untrained and selfish.

And so Jojii's Sword was formed. Led by warriors of honor who uphold the stones of Discipline, Compassion, Humility and Detachment, the gathering embraces all who fight for honorable cause by applying the teachings of Jojii. One need not be a warrior to be a member, and one need not be a member to be a friend.

One must practice Discipline by avoiding the temptations of Desire and by advancing one's training against the forces of Desire.

One must exercise Compassion by aiding all who are in need. Such is the way of Jojii.

One should be of Humility, and should not seek status. One should seek only the items that might make one more effective disciples of Jojii in the crusade against Desire.

One should feel Detachment. There is no Desire in the crusaders of Jojii, only purpose and the application of skill and thought to the present. We may hope for a portal back to Ispar, but we also know that all world is illusion, whether in Dereth or Ispar, and that the Truth of Jojii's teachings exists behind all.
